Maple Cranberry Sauce Recipe
My mother insists I bring this simple cranberry sauce every Thanksgiving. Maple syrup adds a pleasant sweetness people don't expect.—:Mathilda Navias, Tiffin, Ohio
- 1 package (12 ounces) fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1-1/2 cups maple syrup
- 1/3 cup water
- 1. In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Yield: 2-1/2 cups.
1 serving (1/4 cup) equals 142 calories, trace fat (trace saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 5 mg sodium, 37 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, trace protein.
