Maple Baked Onions Recipe

Maple Baked Onions Recipe

I created this side dish to make use of the great maple syrup we have here in Vermont. My family loves this recipe, and it's so easy to prepare.
TOTAL TIME: Prep: 10 min. Bake: 40 min. YIELD:8-10 servings

  • 6 large sweet onions, sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

  • 1. Layer onions in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Combine syrup and butter; pour over onions. Bake, uncovered, at 425° for 40-45 minutes or until tender. Yield: 8-10 servings.

"How can anything so simple be sooooooo

good!! Thanks for a great idea! I placed it on top of sweet potatoes, and also on scrambled eggs. I'll bet it's great with ham steaks. Frankly, it's good right out of the pan!!!!"
