Maple Baked Onions Recipe
I created this side dish to make use of the great maple syrup we have here in Vermont. My family loves this recipe, and it's so easy to prepare.
TOTAL TIME: Prep: 10 min. Bake: 40 min. YIELD:8-10 servings
- 6 large sweet onions, sliced 1/2 inch thick
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1. Layer onions in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Combine syrup and butter; pour over onions. Bake, uncovered, at 425° for 40-45 minutes or until tender. Yield: 8-10 servings.
1 serving (1 each) equals 102 calories, 5 g fat (3 g saturated fat), 12 mg cholesterol, 50 mg sodium, 15 g carbohydrate, 2 g fiber, 1 g protein.
