Homemade eggnog is a tradition in many families during the holiday season. Our slow cooker version of the classic beverage shaves off calories and time spent preparing the festive drink. —Taste of Home Test Kitchen, Greendale, Wisconsin

  • 6 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup egg substitute
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons rum extract
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • French vanilla whipped topping, optional


  • In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine the first five ingredients. Cover and
  • cook on low for 2-3 hours or until heated through. Serve in mugs;
  • dollop with whipped topping if desired. Yield: 9 servings (3/4 cup
  • each).
