I often serve this at summer picnics because it does not contain mayonnaise and is OK to be left out for a longer period of time. It is so delicious, I don't miss other mayonnaise heavy slaw.—Carol Scovel, Baton rouge, Louisiana
- 6 cups chopped cabbage
- 2 large carrots, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 celery rib, chopped
- 2 medium dill pickles, chopped
- 3/4 to 1 cup light Italian salad dressing
- In a large bowl, toss first five ingredients. Add enough salad dressing to moisten. Yield: 12 servings.
