  • 1 loaf (1 pound) French bread
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 slice: 211 calories, 11g fat (6g saturated fat), 25mg cholesterol, 388mg sodium, 24g carbohydrate (1g sugars, 1g fiber), 5g protein.


  1. Cut bread diagonally into 1-in. slices. Combine the remaining ingredients; brush over cut sides of bread. Wrap loaf in foil. Bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes or until heated through. Yield: 8-10 servings.
