- 2-1/4 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup evaporated milk
- 16 large marshmallows
- 1/4 cup butter, cubed
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- In a heavy saucepan, combine the first five ingredients. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Boil and stir 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Stir in the chocolate chips until melted. Stir in the nuts and vanilla. Spread in a buttered 8-in. square pan. Cool. Cut into squares. Store in the refrigerator. Yield: 2-1/2 dozen.
