Meet the Cook: Especially when I'm just serving a dessert, I like to prepare this. I'll usually make it with fresh apples - but I've also sometimes used home-canned ones.

"THIS cobbler was always topped with fresh whipped cream that we skimmed from a milk pan kept cool in my uncle's pumphouse. We skimmed off that cream with a flat spoon and carried it to the kitchen to be whipped. Afterward, we could hardly wait for dessert to be served!"
Meet the Cook: You can serve this crumble as a snack, and it's also great for a breakfast gathering or church supper. It is good hot...and good on the second day as well.
