Honey Walnut Butter Recipe
Tired of plain old peanut butter? Try this slightly sweet alternative made from nutritious walnuts. It's a deliciously different spread for toast, bagels and English muffins. —Taste of Home Test Kitchen
- 1 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
- Pinch salt
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Apple wedges
- 1. Place walnuts and salt in a food processor. Cover and process until nuts are finely ground.
- 2. Add oil and honey; cover and process until mixture forms a smooth paste. Chill until serving. Serve with apple wedges. Yield: 3/4 cup.
2 tablespoons equals 211 calories, 20 g fat (2 g saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 25 mg sodium, 8 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 3 g protein.
