Monday, July 4 on Constitution Avenue between 7th and 17th Streets
The day is filled with a parade, family activities, music and much more. The fireworks show begins around 9:10 pm over the Washington Monument grounds. Can't make it? There are 18 TV cameras stationed around the city, including the U.S. Capitol, the White House, the Washington Monument and across the Potomac River that will catch all the action for PBS.
Saint Louis, Missouri "Fair Saint Louis" Fireworks
July 2, 3 & 4 at the Gateway Arch
From parades to concerts, to air shows and a special kids' area, this 3-day fest has it all. This year, you'll hear Maroon 5, Montgomery Gentry and the Steve Miller Band. It all ends on the 4th with fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
South Lake Tahoe, California Lights on the Lake
July 4, 8:45 p.m. on the southern end of Lake Tahoe
The lake reflects the fireworks show, which is set to music, beautifully. This extravaganza is thought to be among the largest firework displays west of the Mississippi.
New York, New York "Macy's Fourth of July" Fireworks
July 4, 9 p.m. Hudson River between 24th and 50th Streets
Not only will approximately 40,000 shells go off (at the rate of 1,500 per minute), you'll also get great musical entertainment from well-known artists—last year, it was Justin Bieber!
Seattle, Washington Annual Family Fourth at Lake Union
July 4 at Lake Union
The fun starts at noon with delicious food, a beer garden and family activities. The firework show, which starts at 10 p.m., is synchronized to an inspiring score of traditional anthems, favorite oldies, and current hits.
Addison, Texas "Kaboom Town"
July 3, 5 p.m. at Addison Circle Park
This town of 15,000 grows to 400,000 as firework watchers travel near and far to see the impressive display. When the show is over, another one begins—a large screen is set up for an outdoor movie.
New Orleans, Louisiana "Go 4th on the River"
July 4th, 9 p.m. on the New Orleans Riverfront
The Big Easy's dueling barges fireworks show makes for an especially vibrant display. You'll also find great music, and of course, great food.
Boston, Massachusettes The Bostons Pops Fireworks Spectacular
July 4th, along the Charles River at 10:30 p.m.
With live music and tons of fun, it's no wonder this show draws around 500,000 people. More than 30,000 shells will explode over the Charles River to the sounds of the Boston Pops orchestra.
