Bird Nest Centerpiece
This bird's nest Easter decoration is an easy Easter craft—even the kids can help!
To bring a bit of spring to your Easter table, we hatched this clever centerpiece idea. First, make Marbled Easter Eggs (see directions below), then perch them in purchased twig nests. Set several nests down the length of your table to make a stunning centerpiece for your holiday table.
- White hard-cooked eggs
- Liquid food coloring in color of your choice
- White vinegar
- Vegetable oil
Place about 1-1/2 cups of water in a deep-sided bowl. Add food coloring one drop at a time, testing color with a hard-cooked egg until desired color is reached. Add 1 tablespoon each of white vinegar and vegetable oil to colored water.
Swirl the water with a fork to break up the oil. Immediately lower an egg into the bowl using a wire egg holder, spoon or fork, swirling it in a circle as it enters the water. Raise and lower egg until desired color is achieved. Remove egg and let dry on paper towels.
