Herbed Pita Chips Recipe
Instead of simply serving bread alongside stew, why not whip up a batch of these seasoned pita bread chips? They're a fun and flavorful addition to any meal.
- 4 pita breads (6 inches)
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1. Place pita breads on an ungreased baking sheet; brush with butter. Combine basil and thyme; sprinkle over pitas. Cut each into eight wedges. Bake at 400° for 8-10 minutes or until crisp. Yield: 6 servings.
5 or 6 chips equals 127 calories, 2 g fat (1 g saturated fat), 5 mg cholesterol, 234 mg sodium, 22 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 4 g protein.
