"I made these tasty little tidbits for a recent party and they were a hit. I did make a couple of changes after reading the reviews. I substituted chopped green onions for the nuts and used only half of the salad dressing mix. Everyone loved them. I will be preparing this recipe again. I recommend this recipe as a Volunteer Field Editor for Taste o f Home."
"These are probably good but I don't want additives that are in salad dressing in my food so I just use a cream cheese/horseradish spread with a little salt and pepper and they are the best. : )"
"I make ham rolls once a year and they are a hit but mine are completely different. I have tried these with ranch dressing and they seem too bland. Mine are made with softened cream cheese, horseradish, and a dash of worcestershire sauce."
"For the whipped cream cheese or butter put it in your mixer and whip it quickly. I made this a little differently. Cream cheese sour cream and a little tabasco then dry ham before spreading. Then use toothpicks after rolling and use kitchen shears or knife to cut into four bites. Put captains wafer crackers on the side."
"I really like this appetizer. I used 1 1/2 tsp. of the Ranch Dressing mix instead of the full Tablespoon, as I was concerned about them being too salty. Love the chopped walnuts in them, as they add a little bit of a crunch. They are attractive to look at and they got lots of rave reviews from my guests."
