- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 3 teaspoons finely diced green pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Dash pepper
- 8 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves, optional
- Sliced tomato, optional
- Combine first nine ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Shape
- into eight patties. Grill until burgers reach desired doneness.
