Grilled Hamburgers Recipe
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 3 teaspoons finely diced green pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Dash pepper
- 8 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves, optional
- Sliced tomato, optional
- Combine first nine ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Shape into eight patties. Grill until burgers reach desired doneness. Serve on buns with lettuce and tomato if desired. Yield: 8 servings.
Enjoy this recipe with a medium-bodied red wine such as Chianti, Sangiovese, Malbec or Zinfandel.

When I have leftover grilled burgers, I cut them up and add them to a casserole I make with noodles, corn and a cheese sauce(flour, milk, butter and cheese cooked together and poured over noodles, etc). My kids love it!
