Reviews for Gorgonzola & Cranberry Cheese Ball
"An excellent cheese ball recipe very similar to one I used make years ago. I did not add the celery and I did a very fine dice of the other vegetables. I also chopped the cranberries. I made a day ahead for flavors to meld together before rolling in the nuts. My guests raved about this recipe."
"I'm surprised this has so many five star reviews. There are too many flavors in this and they don't go well together. I think this would taste much better without the celery, peppers and possibly the onion. Cranberries just don't go with raw celery, onions and peppers."
"This is a delicious and easy cheese ball and the first I ever made. I will not return to store-bought cheese balls and logs now that I see how quick and easy and TASTY a homemade cheese ball can be. I used blue cheese instead of Gorgonzola (because it's what I had on hand). Whether accidentally or by design, I left out the celery. I had read reviews that it overwhelmed the other ingredients. I didn't miss it at all. Can't wait to share this at gatherings with family and friends this year and in the years to come."
"I made this with feta instead of Gorgonzola, had a yellow pepper so used that instead of the red and green, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It disappeared so fast and everyone wanted the recipe. Absolutely delicious."
"To tell the truth, a co-worker has been after me to make her a cheeseball. I thought if I found one with strange ingredients it would be so bad she would stop asking. No offense, I picked this recipe. After all, blue cheese, cranberries, hot sauce? Come on! Boy was I wrong! This is the best cheeseball I have ever made! Everyone at work loved it! Men and women. I followed the recipe to a "T". Celery, peppers, everything. Please don't pass this cheeseball recipe by. It's a must try! Even for doubters like me. Plus it's so easy to throw together!"
"I made this tonight for a party. Everyone really liked it. I did not add celery because I do not like it and I added about a tsp of Worcestershire sauce. Also I used maybe 1/3 cup blue cheese because I didn't want that flavor to be too strong. Will definitely make again, even my kids loved it!"
"This recipe was a hit at our Thanksgiving get together, everyone loved it"
"Love this!! The Gorgonzola is strong, but mellows out the next day. Will make again!!!"
"We share this with friends all the time. Always a huge hit!"
"Great cheese ball! The flavor combinations are amazing! The strength of the Gorgonzola is cut nicely by the cream cheese and the pepper sauce is a nice touch for flavor but does not cause it to be spicy. Big hit this thanksgiving and we will be making again and again. Please ignore any comments made by people who alter the recipe."
"I made this for thanksgiving. One I did not know how expensive Gorgonzola is, so I had to substitute with feta. It came out not bad but just a little stronger for me."
"I always make this around the holiday season. Sometimes I'll make bite size balls instead of one big one, just for a little more elegant look on the platter. - Sarah Vasques"
"So very good. Brought it to Thanksgiving dinner. Nothing was left."
"Wonderful. Made this for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it; including the Tweens. Made one large ball, put a smaller ball on top for a head. Then we put stick pretzels in the large ball for feathers. Used a slice of red pepper for the gobbler and feet. Used an almond for a beak. Looked so cute and tasted yummy."
"this was very good very easy i,ll make it again"
"Fantastic cheese ball. every morsel disappears ewith a request for recipe. First on my list to take to Parties. Minced the celery found all flavors blended well. definitely making again. De----licious!!!!"
"Oh my god, totally delicious."
"I had no peppers on hand and decided to leave out the celery too. Instead of finely chopping onion, I used 2 tsp. of dried minced onion which I reconsituted in hot water first. I made this into a log rather than a ball, and I toasted the nuts before chopping. It came out excellent and I am sure to be making this again and again as it is so festive for holiday time."
"Wow. This is easy and so good, a real crowd pleaser. I made it for superbowl, only 6 of us, and we ate the whole thing! Even my husband who is not a fan of gorgonzola, loved this cheeseball. The cranberries balance the gorgonzola perfectly. I will make this again and again. Delicious!"
"Especially good on pepper crackers"
"Easy and tasty, followed recipe and would not change anything"
"This was fantastic and couldn't be any easier. I would definitely make it again and this time I might add a tiny tiny bit of finely minced jalapeno, but just as the recipe is...if SUPERB!!"
"Delicious and very festive. I found all flavors to be equally balanced. Didn't change one thing. Will definitely make again."
"Made it the way the recipe said. The celery was just too much. It took over the taste. I will definitely make it again, but without the celery the next time"
