Ginger Cardamom Tea Recipe
- 2 cups water
- 4 teaspoons honey
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh gingerroot
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 6 individual tea bags
- 1-1/2 cups fat-free milk
- 1. In a small saucepan, combine water, honey, ginger and cardamom; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes.
- 2. Pour over tea bags in a 2-cup glass measuring cup. Steep 3-5 minutes according to taste. Strain tea back into saucepan, discarding ginger and tea bags. Stir in milk; heat through. Yield: 4 servings.
3/4 cup equals 55 calories, trace fat (trace saturated fat), 2 mg cholesterol, 39 mg sodium, 11 g carbohydrate, trace fiber, 3 g protein. Diabetic Exchange: 1/2 starch.

"At the store I bought the wrong spice! So I didn't have Cardamom but used cinnamon it it's place. It turned out great and I loved it. Next time I will be using more honey though b.c. I love the sweet taste of it and would have loved to have had more of it in this tea."
"This was a tasty and soothing way to unwind after a hectic day. It took only about 15 minutes to prepare and the combination of spices was just right. I like things a bit sweeter, so I added a teaspoon of sugar to each cup. In the future I will probably use more honey than the recipe calls for."
