Garlic Basil Butter Recipe

Instead of serving plain butter alongside an assortment of fresh breads, prepare this herb-laden whipped butter. —Taste of Home Test Kitchen
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 10 min. YIELD:8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 teaspoons minced fresh basil
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Fresh sage and thyme

Directions

  • 1. In a small bowl, combine the butter, basil, parsley and garlic powder. Beat on medium-low speed until mixture is combined. Garnish with sage and thyme. Yield: 1/2 cup.

"I've been making this for a long time. Most of the time, unless in a pinch, I use fresh minced/chopped garlic. I also add a few 'turns' of fresh ground pepper - just because!! I've added fresh chopped chives and/or dill weed also. I try to keep it on hand for topping a bowl of hot pasta with a sprinkle of parmesan or toast or any meat right out of the pan or oven, for the finishing touch!! It also freezes quite well in a tightly sealed small container."
