Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons baking cocoa
  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/4 cup flaked coconut
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

311 calories: 2 each, 13g fat (7g saturated fat), 22mg cholesterol, 118mg sodium, 46g carbohydrate (35g sugars, 2g fiber), 4g protein .

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine sugar and cocoa; add butter and milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil; boil for 1 minute. Remove from the heat; stir in oats, coconut, peanut butter and vanilla.
  2. Let stand until the mixture mounds when dropped by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper. Cool until set. Yield: 1 dozen.

"I have no idea what I did wrong, but these did not mound up at all. Very flat cookie looking result. The taste was o.k. but I probably won't use this recipe again."

"Definitely too sweet. I'd use less sugar if I made them again. I also omitted the coconut and used sunflower seed butter instead of peanut butter, because of allergies."

"Super yummy and easy to make! Be sure to stick to the recommended dozen cookies per batch as they are rich treats and you don't want them too big. My husband's reaction was "wow, these are like fudge" as he devoured the cookie :)."

"My son loves these cookies and their so easy to make. It's one of those recipes that have been around for a long time. I remember tasting something like this when I was a little girl and I tried it warm and gooey right from the pan very good when warm too."
