Everyone needs a fun, friendly way for kids to play with food. These “bites” are nutty and yummy when you coat bananas in chocolate and dip them into peanuts, sprinkles or coconut. —Susan Hein, Burlington, Wisconsin

Editor's Note: To toast coconut, bake in a shallow pan in a 350° oven for 5-10 minutes or cook in a skillet over low heat until golden brown, stirring occasionally.

"These are really yummy. I like to use coconut oil instead of shortening. Works great!"

"I didn't let the banana bites freeze until complete firm (as the recipe instructed), and so they started thawing as I was dipping them into the chocolate and were falling off the toothpicks! Next time I make them I'll be sure to let them freeze longer. Apart from my not following instructions, these were fun and easy to make...and yummy!"

"These are so much fun! We love the frozen chocolate banana bites from Trader Joe's but now we can make our own!"
