Fresh Strawberry Smoothies Recipe
A tantalizing combination of strawberries and orange juice, this smoothie gets its shake-like texture from low-fat buttermilk. “The recipe also works well with other fresh berries,“ says Helene Rock of Los Altos, California.
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 10 min. YIELD:2 servings
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1-1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1. Place all ingredients in a blender; cover and process for 1-2 minutes or until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses; serve immediately. Yield: 2 servings.
1 cup (prepared with sugar substitute) equals 82 calories, 1 g fat (trace saturated fat), 2 mg cholesterol, 66 mg sodium, 16 g carbohydrate, 3 g fiber, 3 g protein.
