French Peas Recipe
I'm always on the lookout for side dishes that go with nearly any main meal. This medley of peas, onions and mushrooms fills the bill.—John Davis, Mobile, Alabama
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 2 teaspoons water
- 2 medium fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 2 thin onion slices
- Pinch salt, optional
- 1. Melt butter in a small saucepan; add all remaining ingredients. Cover and cook until the peas are tender, stirring occasionally. Yield: 1 serving.
1/2 cup: 104 calories, 1g fat (0 saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 104mg sodium, 13g carbohydrate (0 sugars, 0 fiber), 4g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 1 starch, 1 fat.
