Instead of turning to store-bought salad dressings that lack freshness and flavor, try this easy dressing. This simple homemade topping adds tangy flavor to an ordinary lettuce salad.—Mrs Robert Lieske, Ripon, Wisconsin

  • 1 cup canola oil
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 small onion, quartered


  • Combine all ingredients in a blender container. Cover and blend at
  • medium-high until well mixed. Chill before serving. Store in a
  • covered container in the refrigerator. Yield: 24 servings.
