Fluffy Chocolate Mousse Frosting Recipe

This smooth, fluffy frosting is a real treat for cake lovers. You can also use it as a dip for fresh fruit.—Kim Marie Van Rheenen, Mendota, Illinois
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 10 min. YIELD:12-15 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cold 2% milk
  • 1 package (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate fudge pudding mix
  • 1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions

  • 1. In a large bowl, whisk milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes. Fold in whipped topping. Store in the refrigerator. Yield: 3-1/2 cups.

"This is a fantastic frosting! I've made it with vanilla pudding mix as well and it is delicious. Great for those of us who don't care for the overly rich, cloyingly sweet texture of most frostings."

"This makes a wonderful cake filling, too! I've also used vanilla pudding in place of chocolate and then added a capful (or 2) of liqueur, such as Kahlua, as a fruit dip. So good it makes you want to skip the fruit! :)"
