"This cake is great.l I used non-gluten flour, and I used coconut sugar instead of white sugar. This cake took the substitutions well. The cake was delicious. The 8-inch square pan is just the right size of us. I made a frosting of butter, peanut butter, vanilla and coconut sugar. If you put coconut sugar through a blender, it will have a consistency like that of confectioners sugar. Everyone loved this cake."

"I had extra "Rich Chocolate Frosting" (also from TOH) after making 2 cakes for friends, so decided to make a small cake to keep. I added 1 tsp salt after noticing there was none in the recipe.

This recipe is very similar to another recipe I love which calls for a little vinegar in it and mixing it with a wooden spoon, so I added 1/2 tsp vinegar."

"I had an unexpected guest spending the night, so wanted to whip up a quick chocolate cake with ingredients on hand. I made this recipe and could not believe how quickly it came together and how delicious it was! Bravo, so glad it made a smaller cake and was gone quickly. Thanks again!"

"I whipped this cake up in no time. My son hates icing, so this cake is perfect. It came out really moist. I just snuck a piece will still hot. I think it would taste good with chocolate drizzle on top."
