  • 3 pounds ground beef
  • 3 cups ketchup
  • 2/3 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 14 hamburger buns, split

Nutritional Facts

1/2 cup: 344 calories, 11g fat (4g saturated fat), 48mg cholesterol, 1193mg sodium, 40g carbohydrate (18g sugars, 1g fiber), 21g protein


  1. In a Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the ketchup, relish and soup mix; heat through. Serve immediately on buns, or cool mixture before placing in a freezer container. Cover and freeze for up to 3 months.
  2. To use frozen sloppy joes: Thaw beef mixture in the refrigerator; place in a saucepan and heat through. Serve on buns. Yield: 14 servings.

"i made these for a family get together... My mom who is not a big eater, ate 3 of them. and asked for any left overs. I cooked the beef and then put everything in a crock pot on low for 3 hours. they really are so good."

"This is so tasty!!! I love it!!! The only thing i did different was that i used 2 pounds of hamburger meat instead of 3, otherwise i added same amount of the other ingredients & it is sooo delicious! Way better than the canned stuff at the store!!"
