Easy Rice and Peas Recipe
Even folks who aren't fond of vegetables will gobble up this simple-to-prepare side dish. For even more color, toss in some chopped frozen carrots.
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups uncooked Minute® White Rice
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1. Bring water, butter and salt to a boil in a large saucepan. Add rice and peas. Cover and remove from the heat. Let stand for 5-7 minutes or until all of the water is absorbed. Yield: 4 servings.
1 serving (3/4 cup) equals 233 calories, 3 g fat (2 g saturated fat), 8 mg cholesterol, 662 mg sodium, 45 g carbohydrate, 2 g fiber, 6 g protein.
