MY MOTHER copied this recipe from a Quaker Oats box in the 1950s, and it remains one of our favorite treats today. I serve these date-filled squares as a snack or for dessert topped with a dollop of whipped cream. -Jill McCon, Montrose, Michigan

"Fantastic. Wow I really love this recipe. The whole family loves this recipe. Taste wonderful with whipped cream and fresh berries. I will make it often and share with everyone. If you think you don't like dates.....think again. Just a note, I made this with whole wheat flour and brown sugar splenda."
