“My husband grew up in Cincinnati, where chili is served over spaghetti, and I grew up in the South. This family-pleaser is a mingling of both worlds”…and a great way to make a meal go further. —Stephanie Rabbitt-Schappacher, West Chester, Ohio
This is a nice change of pace from traditional beef chili, offering a whole different set of flavors to enjoy. I like to serve cheddar cheese bread on the side. You can also serve the chili over rice. —Traci K Wynne, Denver, Pennsylvania
My husband had this type of chili when visiting a friend in Ohio and was super- thrilled when I made it at home. Our favorite way to serve it is five-way with spaghetti, cheese, onions and beans. —Tari Ambler, Shorewood, Illinois
Meet the Cook: Beginning when I was just 5 years old, I was my grandmother's constant helper in the kitchen. And, like her, I can't seem to follow a recipe without changing it! That's how this one came about when I got bored with plain chili. The first time I served it at a potluck, people passed around copies of the recipe.
My husband and I have three grown children and three grandchildren.
-Chloe Buckner, Edinburg, Pennsylvania
What's nice about this recipe is that you can add any extras (like chopped bell peppers or sliced fresh mushrooms) to make your own specialty. I only get the best reviews when I serve this chili. - Ginny Puckett, Lutz, Florida
