My husband and his friends would often buy a similar version of this creamy, vanilla-flavored beverage at a nearby coffee house. Because daily stops got to be expensive, I decided to try and make my own. This smooth sensation was the result.—Heather Kunkel, Wellsville, New York

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup ground coffee
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2-1/2 cups 2% milk

Nutritional Facts

1 cup equals 224 calories, 7 g fat (4 g saturated fat), 20 mg cholesterol, 204 mg sodium, 35 g carbohydrate, trace fiber, 7 g protein.

Directions

  1. Place ground coffee in the coffee filter of a drip coffeemaker. Add water; brew according to manufacturer's directions.
  2. In a small bowl, combine sugar and dry pudding mix. Stir in milk and coffee. Chill until serving. Yield: 3 servings.

"This is the best iced coffees I've made. I used splenda instead of sugar, and used half the amount since I normally don't use sugar in my coffee. It's so creamy and nice. I think I'm going to try it with chocolate pudding as well."

"I have made this recipe alot. It is one of the best recipies for ice coffee that I have found. I use about half the sugar as it is too sweet for me with 1/4 cup. Awesome on these hot 90 degree days!!"

"This was very sweet! I think I would love it if I drank it chilled as the recipe is written. I was out of my french vanilla coffee creamer this morning and needed my coffee!!! So I so I found this recipe and tried it. I ended up adding a lot more coffee and drank it hot. It was very good!"
