Creamy Turkey Gravy Recipe

“With my easy recipe, even someone who has never made homemade gravy before can be assured of success,” says Phyllis Schmalz of Kansas City, Kansas.
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 15 min. YIELD:10 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons turkey drippings
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup whole milk

Directions

  • 1. In a small saucepan, mix cornstarch, drippings, salt and pepper until smooth. Gradually whisk in broth and milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; cook and stir 2 minutes or until thickened. Yield: 2-1/3 cups.

"It was good! I substituted potato starch, added 2 teaspoons too potent poultry seasoning which made green gravy - so diluted with more chicken broth in separate pot. Used Himalayan salt & raw milk. Then added chunked turkey & heated. Oops - forgot the cranberry sauce again!"
