Creamy Slaw Recipe

Creamy Slaw Recipe

This colorful coleslaw is a longtime family favorite. Cabbage, carrots and green pepper are blended with a tasty dressing that gets its zest from a hint of mustard. When Mom set this slaw on the table, it disappeared fast. —Dianne Esposite, New Middletown, Ohio

"Made with few changes. I added more sugar after tasting -like mine sweeter. I also nuked 3/4 cup raisins in some water to plump and added because we like the taste. Hasn't sat for 2 hours yet but sure it will be great."

"This was a BIG disappointment. All we could taste was the mustard and little else. Would definitely not try this again. A waste of good ingredients."

"My only change was 1-1/4 Tbl. of Splenda Sugar Blend. Whether on wheat crackers on as a side with salmon, this Slaw was great."

"Coming from a family with "our own" slaw recipe, I was really taking a chance serving this one. I cut back on the mustard just a bit(personal taste) and it was delicious! My husband kept on raving about it. Easy to make and keeps well...IF there are leftovers!"

"Too strong flavored - More sugar? Less liquid/lemon juice/mustard? Plus too much dressing so very liquid"

"Never make cole slaw with mayo or salad dressing; I just use oil, vinegar, onions, carrots, S&P, and a bit of sugar. Not as fattening as mayo."

"This definetely sounds good with the lemon juice being added but I'm going to cut time and buy pre-shredded slaw with carrots just to try it."

"I've been making this dressing for cole slaw for years, I now leave the seeds out because of diverticulitis. I also put it on lettuce salads. Delicious"

"This is delicious. I did use Miracle Whip rather than mayo and since I didn't have a lemon on hand, I used a packet of True Lemon....very very good!"

"I love me some coleslaw and this was no exception. The lemon juice is a new ingredient for me to use in coleslaw, but it really adds to the taste withouty tasting "lemony". I'm also not crazy about green pepper, but I had a little one out of the garden to use, and I would do it again. Follow the recipe exactly and you will certainly have a winner."
