Ingredients

  • 5 large potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 15 garlic cloves, peeled and halved
  • 2 teaspoons salt, divided
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Nutritional Facts

1 serving (3/4 cup) equals 311 calories, 23 g fat (14 g saturated fat), 68 mg cholesterol, 959 mg sodium, 26 g carbohydrate, 3 g fiber, 3 g protein.

Directions

  1. Place the potatoes, garlic and 1 teaspoon salt in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Drain.
  2. Transfer potato mixture to a large bowl; mash. Add the butter, cream and remaining salt; beat until smooth. Yield: 6 servings.
