"I can still taste these wonderful peas in Mama's delicious white sauce. Our food was pretty plain during the week, so I thought this white sauce made the peas 'extra fancy' and fitting for a Sunday meal."

"We loved this. The only thing I did differently was not precook the peas. I defrosted them completely and then added them when the white sauce had thickened."

"I've never enjoyed sweet peas so much! The ease of the recipe was a big bonus. Used F/F half and half instead of milk and it worked just fine."

"I got this recipe in a TOH book. I've been making this for many years. My husband loves it when I make it. His favorite meal is creamy meatloaf, homemade mashed potatoes, and these yummy peas. I also make a blueberry cobbler for dessert."

"First time ever making creamed peas and they turned out so good! Great, quick and easy side dish. Served it with salmon patties made from the fish my husband caught yesterday in the San Juans . . . ."

"This is an excellent dish. Easy and delicious. I added red potatoes (quartered and cooked) and used canned peas."

"This is wonderful! I was impressed by two things - 1, the sauce did not become grainy after boiling, and 2, the sugar improved the flavor of the sauce 100%. The only thing I did different was not precook the peas. I used frozen, placed them in cold water to thaw, drained well the put them in as I heated the sauce up. They were perfect. Thank you so much for this recipe!"

"I have made this recipe a couple times. I substituted fried mushrooms or cooked carrots. I love the sauce no matter what veg is added."
