Cream Cheese Candies Recipe
- 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint or almond extract
- 3 cups confectioners' sugar
- Green and red colored sugar, optional
- 1. Mix cream cheese and extract until blended. Beat in 1-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar. Knead in remaining confectioners' sugar. Shape into 1/2-in. balls. If desired, roll in colored sugar. place on baking sheets. Flatten with a fork.
- 2. Let stand until firm, 1-2 hours. Store between layers of waxed paper in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Yield: about 6 dozen.
