If you like spicy food, you'll love these burgers! When I added the jalapeno pepper to my regular turkey burgers and served them with the sauce, they were a hit. You can also grill them.

Ingredients

  • BURGERS:
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 to 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 to 4 drops hot pepper sauce
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • SAUCE:
  • 1 cup fresh corn, cooked
  • 1 cup picante sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Directions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the first nine ingredients; mix well. Shape
  • into four patties. Heat oil in skillet; fry patties over medium heat
  • for about 4 minutes per side or until done.
  • Heat sauce ingredients in a small saucepan; serve over burgers. Serve
  • on hamburger buns if desired. Yield: 4 servings.
