  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon minced chives

Nutritional Facts

1 biscuit: 175 calories, 8g fat (5g saturated fat), 21mg cholesterol, 391mg sodium, 22g carbohydrate (2g sugars, 1g fiber), 4g protein.


  1. In a small bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, baking soda and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add buttermilk and chives; stir just until moistened.
  2. Drop by 1/4 cupfuls 2 in. apart onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 12-16 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. Yield: 6 biscuits.

"These were really easy to make and I love that it's a smaller recipe (only 6 biscuits). Although, I do have to agree with a below comment that they were a little bland. I used unsalted butter so next time I would either use salted butter or up the salt to 1/2 tsp."
