Reviews for Cool and Creamy Watermelon Pie
"Have not made yet, but want to for Memorial day. Can you make fresh whipped cream instead of frozen whipped cream in carton? Family does not care for frozen. If can, will submit a review. Thank you."
"Make you drain the watermelon WELL after dicing it. Place it into a colander to be sure all the extra juice is gone.Another important thing is to be SURE to cool the gelatin down completely before adding in your whipped topping or all you will get is SLUSH!The BEST gelatin to use, imo, is Jolly Rancher watermelon! It has the best flavor for this pie! This is a simple recipe that turns out WELL if you follow directions and will absolutely THRIL watermelon lovers in your family! It's delicious!"
"Might add a little More Watermelon gelatin next time but it made a great dessert, everyone liked it"
"This is the BEST pie ever for hot days of Summer. Followed the recipe exactly except used reduced fat graham cracker crust & light cool whip (dietary restrictions). Found the watermelon jello at Walmart, as other markets didn't carry it. It stayed in the fridge for a good 4 days. This is a keeper in my recipe file!Velma, thank you so much for sharing your recipe with us all."
"Haven't made this yet but wanted to know if I could freeze this pie??"
"Very easy and refreshing....I cubed watermelon two hrs before...and put in bowl in refrigerator......so natural watermelon juices could be used instead of the water.....it added extra flavor.....a keeper for sure....cherry jello adds more flavor and color....my favorite....tastes excellent with cherries pitted and cut in half."

"Here on Long Island, we are finally done with a record-breaking heat wave. After a week of unrelenting 90+ degree temperatures, I made a Creamy Watermelon pie. My family loved this cool dessert and it was devoured in one day. This pretty fluffy pink pie would also be perfect for a summer ladies luncheon or a baby shower. This recipe is definitely a keeper!"
"A light and refreshing pie. I was unable to find watermelon jello so used melon fusion instead. It made the pie a pale green, it was pretty with the pink watermelon inside. I have also made this pie with other flavors like orange with mandarin oranges and strawberry and raspberry too. It is very versatile so adapt it to your favorites fruits."
"Excellent made it for my nephew's birthday this July! Couldn't find watermelon jello so used fruit punch jello instead. Also replaced water with watermelon juice."
"Made this pie and my whole family loved it. They wanted me to make another the next night too. Very different and refreshing."

"Light and refreshing for a hot summer day! I've also made it with other flavors and fruits: orange with mandarin oranges, black cherry, and blueberry. Yum!"
"My brother has Celiac Disease so I made it in parfait glasses and served cookies he could eat on the side. Less calories that way too!"
"I haven't tried this yet, but I am going to! Wanted to let readers know that Kroger now carries Jolly Rancher watermelon gelatin. It's good alone, so I can't wait to try this!"
"I made this and while it tasted delicious, it didn't set up as well as it should have. Maybe the heat??? I will try it again though because the flavor is so good and we always seem to have portions of watermelon left over after cutting into one. I couldn't find the watermelon jello so I used fruit punch flavored jello instead. Still tasted divine!!"
"Have made this several times for guests, and everybody is always surprised and raves about it. Lovely end to a summer meal!"
"It tastes like a watermelon jolly rancher. Pretty good. You could easily change this with different fruit and jello mix (strawberry, peach, raspberry, cherry...)"
"This pie is delicious, I can't get enough of it. A friend brought a pie to work. She used cherry jello. We liked it so much the next day she brought two, one with watermelon jello and one made with strawberry jello. My favorite is actually the one with cherry jello. It has more flavor and is a darker pink than the watermelon jellon. Don't be afraid to make it with a different flavor jello. Today I made one to take to a family reunion. I also made one with orange jello and mandarin oranges. I'm going to call that Mandarin pie."
"Some wal-marts do sell individual boxes of the watermelon jello! This is perfect for a summer day! So so so refreshing! Everyone loved it! Nice choice for something other than the normal strawberry, cherry, or blueberry pie!"
"You can get Watermellon Jello at amazon.com also! It seems to be a rare treat. Unfortunately, they are only sold in a case of 24. lol"
"this was great! And very easy.I got my watermelon jello at Walmart"
"EVERYONE TRY IT...You will be glad you did. This recipe is FANTASTIC. I get compliments each time I make it."
