We love burgers and have them every Saturday in summer. We also have a favorite burrito recipe. One day, we got the bright idea to combine two of our favorite recipe. Voila! Our Southwestern Burgers were created.
Deer Park, Washington
This favorite was created by my father-in-law years ago, then I added a few things of my own. Even my husband, who doesn't care for cream cheese, gobbles up these burgers. - Mary Rolando, Farmington, Illinois
The original recipe for these burgers called for lamb or beef, but I decided to try ground chicken to decrease the fat. The sauce easily doubles as a flavorful dip for veggies and toasted pita chips. —Judy Puskas, Wallaceburg, ON
These burgers are a twist on the traditional backyard favorite. A dollop of dill and horseradish dressing gives extra bite to this standard. They are made with lean ground beef to keep the fat content low, and includes grated carrots and chopped fresh mushrooms to sneak in some veggies.—Deb Anderson, Joplin, Missouri
