My sister, Kathy, and I often exchange recipes - I give her my desserts, and she gives me her entrees. This recipe is from her, and it's become a favorite of mine for serving to company. The meat and vegetables can be prepared ahead of time...when the company arrives, I just fire up the grill!
These are delicious with fresh sweet corn and a baked potato. You can spend the day out of the kitchen by assembling the kabobs in the morning, then letting them marinate all day before grilling at dinnertime. —Lorri Cleveland, Kingsville, Ohio
This is the perfect appetizer for most any occasion. The tasty bites are easy to assemble and brush with prepared barbecue sauce. When we have a big cookout, they're always a hit...but they make a nice little "extra" for a family dinner, too.

Meet the Cook: I still remember the first time I served these colorful kabobs - my family was thrilled to find a surprise in the tasty meatballs. Since I make them often, I sometimes substitute different vegetables or cheeses for variety.

My husband loves to barbecue, so when it's hot outside, we do entire meals on the grill. Since our kids love rice, we often include this tangy side dish as part of the menu. —Shirley Hopkins, Olds, Alberta
"I created this recipe to add some zip to grilled vegetables," relates Laurie Whitney, Bradford, Massachusetts. "Their color, crispness and taste are tempting to all ages. Even my young son eats his veggies when I prepare them this way."
