The original recipe for this dessert was given to me by my ex Sister-in-law, and was named after the Oreo cookies in the dessert. I experimented and came up with this version.

Ingredients

1 row each of chocolate and vanilla deluxe sandwich cream cookies, crushed
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 cup shivered almonds
8-ounces cream cheese at room temperature
1cup confectioners sugar
1teaspoon almond extract
2 cups whipped topping
2 3-ounce packages instant coconut pudding mix
3 cups milk
2 more cups whipped topping
1/2 cup shredded coconut
Chocolate syrup for serving

Directions

1st layer: Mix cookie crumbs with melted butter and press into bottom of a 13x9-inch that has been sprayed with butter flavored non-stick cooking spray. Bake for 10 minutes and then cool completely.

2nd layer: Mix cream cheese and 1/2 cup whipped topping, and then add the sugar, extract and remaining whipped topping. Spread over cookie crust. Chill for 30 minutes in freezer.

3rd layer: Mix together pudding mix and milk. Let it set for 5 minutes then spread over the cream cheese layer. Chill for 30 minutes in the freezer.

4th layer: Carefully spread second 2 cups of whipped topping over pudding layer and sprinkle with the coconut. Chill for at least 4 hours in refrigerator.

To serve, cut into squares, place on dessert plates and drizzle with the chocolate syrup.
