MAKES: 10 servings


  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 onion
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 2-3 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 tubes crescent rolls
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Lightly brown hamburger and onion, (drain). Salt and pepper (Runzas have a lot of pepper in them). Cook cabbage in margarine until tender. Combine hamburger and cabbage mixtures.
  2. Line 9x13 inch pan with 1 tube of the rolls. Put 1/2 of hamburger-cabbage mixture, then cheese, rest of hamburger-cabbage, and top with tube crescent rolls. Cook 25 minutes in 350 degree oven, then cover with tin foil and bake 10 minutes. Yield: serves 10
Notes: Cook crescent rolls in the bottom of the pan before putting hamburger, etc. in. It reduces the bottm layer from getting soggy. This is also good if you wanted to add mushrooms.
