We live in Ky, and every spring it's a tradition to hunt Morels. In our family, if someone either has to work or for some other reason dosen't have time to hit the hills, the ones who do always share. Morels are a soring time treat with us, and this is our favorite way to fix them, and serve them as a side or appetizer.

- Morel Mushrooms
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- oil for frying
- Clean mushrooms by splitting lengthwise and place in cold salted water to wash.
- Put 1 cup flour, salt and pepper in bowl or I like to use a bag, for the shake and bake effect.
- Heat oil in deep fryer to 350 or large skillet to frying temp. While oil is heating, drain mushrooms, place in seasoned flour. When hot. place mushrooms in oil, don't crowd. and fry till golden brown..
- Drain on paper towels and serve as a side dish or as a snack or appetizer. Yield: serves 4
