Chocolate crumb brownies Recipe
This recipe is special to me because it is my children's favorite. My son loves brownies and my daughter loves crumb cake, so I created these to launch world peace in my house. My children bring me great joy and I am glad to return some of that joy with these easy, but special treats.
- Crumb Topping:
- 1 stick butter (cold)
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 sticks butter (melted)
- 2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- In a large bowl mix flour, sugar, brown sugar and cocoa powder. Cut cold butter(1stick) into mix, and with hands form into crumbs. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix melted butter, sugar and cocoa powder until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time and mix well. Stir in flour. Grease a 9x13 pan and pour brownie batter in. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes, then sprinkle crumbs over brownies and bake additional 10-15 minutes until crumbs look done. Remove from oven and let cool completely. Yield: serves 12
