Chunky Hazelnut Oatmeal Cookies
This is a great-tasting cookie. Children love them, and my husband and I like to take them when we go hiking.

- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 Eggland's Best Egg
- 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1-1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup dried cherries
- 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat
- in egg. Combine flour and baking soda; gradually add to creamed
- mixture and mix well. Stir in the oats, chocolate chips, cherries
- and nuts.
- Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake
- at 375° for 9-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to
- wire racks. Yield: 3 dozen.
