Chocolate Chip Dip Recipe

Chocolate Chip Dip Recipe

Is there a kid alive (or a kid at heart) who wouldn’t gobble up this creamy dip for graham crackers? It beats dunking them in milk, hands down! You can also try it with apple wedges. —Heather Koenig, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 15 min. YIELD:16 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • Graham cracker sticks

Directions

  • 1. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy. Add the sugars and vanilla; beat until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips. Serve with graham cracker sticks. Yield: 2 cups.

Recipe Note

Test Kitchen Tips

  • If you have a hankering for cookies and cream, replace the chocolate chips with crushed cookies.
  • For a butter pecan/butter brickle dip, stir in toasted pecans and toffee bits.
  • We won't judge if you eat this directly from the spoon, but it also tastes great with pretzels or animal crackers.

"OMG..I never thought I'd be writing a review that said, "It's way too sweet!" ..but this one definitely falls into that category, IMHO. I love sweets, love, love, love chocolate.... but this one...is way too much! Took it to a party, based on the great reviews, along with the appropriate dippers. A few people asked about it, but I think it was probably so they could avoid making the same mistake There was a bunch leftover, which I brought home thinking maybe it could be recycled into something palatable... but sadly, decided not to put more $$ into something I didn't like to begin with. But, to each their own. Obviously, a lot of others really liked it. Bon Appetit!"

For those who have issues with the fat and sugar content this recipe can be lightened up by using reduced or non-fat cream cheese, light butter (Land O' Lakes makes some), reducing the powdered sugar to 1/2 cup and using Splenda Brown Sugar Blend. These substitutions work well for individuals with diabetes, pre-diabetes and for those in general who are looking to lose weight."
