Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight Recipe
- 1 tube (16-1/2 ounces) refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 carton (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
- 3 cups cold 2% milk
- 1 package (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
- Chopped nuts and chocolate curls, optional
- 1. Let cookie dough stand at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to soften. Press into an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 14-16 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
- 2. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and confectioners' sugar until smooth. Fold in 1-3/4 cups whipped topping. Spread over crust.
- 3. In a large bowl, whisk milk and pudding mixes for 2 minutes. Spread over cream cheese layer. Top with remaining whipped topping. Sprinkle with nuts and chocolate curls if desired.
- 4. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight until firm. Yield: 15 servings.
1 piece (calculated without nuts and chocolate curls) equals 365 calories, 17 g fat (10 g saturated fat), 29 mg cholesterol, 329 mg sodium, 47 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 4 g protein.

"I under baked the cookie, and it was still hard to cut and get out of the pan. When I did cut it and tried to take it out, it left a thin layer of the crust that I couldn't get out. This always happens when I use refrigerated cookie dough as a crust. I will not do that again. This recipe is similar to a Chocolate Striped Delight dessert I make for Jello brand, I think. I will stick with that recipe in the future. It uses graham cracker crumbs, as some of the other reviews here suggested. Should have listened!"

"NOTE for those who had trouble with a hard, over cooked cookie base: you might be using a 15x9 inch pan by mistake: it needs the smaller pan to make sure it is a thick enough layer to transform from a crisp cookie to a dense chewy texture. "I have made similar to this for years. This is my kids birthday cake. I use oreo cookies crumbled for the base and I sometimes use butterscotch pudding. We have a different name for this, but the kids have to call it pudding layered dessert. We call it "Sex in a pan". I have also made this for my diabetic husband, with sugar free cookies, whip cream and pudding. Still delicious."

"I defiently agree with the other review when it comes to making sure that you do NOT over cook the cookie dough. I didn't even leave it in the oven half the time that the recipe called for, infact I thought it still looked a little doughy when I got it out, but when I tried to get a piece the next morning...it was inpossible to get out of the dish. I tried the recipe again, but this time didn't bake the dough even as long as the first time and made sure to let it cool a little bit before adding the cream cheese mixture and it was much better. I also used a packet of white chocolate pudding and cheesecake pudding the second time around, instead of the vanilla and chocolate, and liked it even better. Either way...beware the cookie dough."
