Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball Recipe
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
- Graham crackers
- 1. Beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla until smooth; beat in sugars just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Refrigerate, covered, until firm enough to shape, about 2 hours.
- 2. Place mixture on a large sheet of plastic wrap; shape into a ball. Refrigerate, wrapped, at least 1 hour.
- 3. To serve, roll cheese ball in pecans. Serve with graham crackers. Yield: 16 servings (2 tablespoons each).
2 tablespoons: 202 calories, 17g fat (8g saturated fat), 31mg cholesterol, 99mg sodium, 14g carbohydrate (12g sugars, 1g fiber), 2g protein.

Just shape in a cute serving dish & pat the nuts on top. Sometimes also like to toss in some toffee bits. I like to serve with graham pretzels (regular & chocolate) that I get from a local bulk food store. I can eat this by the spoonful!"

"Delicious! I have made it several times now. I usually spread it in a crock and use a spreader instead of rolling it into a ball. I usually don't put the nuts on since we don't like nuts in our chocolate chip cookies but they could easily be sprinkled over the top or even just on one half. My kids love it with the Keebler scooby doo Grahams shaped like bones but I prefer it on chocolate grahams. Something easy to make and take somewhere and is something almost everybody loves! "I've made this recipe several times over the last few years after it came out in a Reiman Publication Magazine. However, I never make it into a ball. I always place it in a pretty serving bowl and serve it as a thick dip. One of the secrets to the thickness is using name brand cream cheese and use real butter and not margarine. I'm all for saving money, but I've found that on anything cream cheese in which the consistency matters I always use Philadelphia brand. That's just something that I've tested and tried over the years and found to be a "no substitute" ingredient. I don't form this into a ball simply because it's always so nice served as a dip. I put a spreader in the bowl instead of a spoon as it is so thick. If I'm feeding a group that likes nuts, I just fold them into the mix with the chocolate chips. Otherwise, I simply leave the nuts out. I have one friend who likes to eat this with a spoon instead of using a dipper! It's a wonderful go to recipe!"
