Reviews for Chocolate Chip Cake Bars
"i have been making these for many years since i first found this recipe in your Quick Cooking book delicious"
"These came out beautiful! I've made a lot of cake mix bar cookies but this was the first that included the addition of brown sugar. The edges of the bars were chewy and the middle was soft. I used a seasonal cake mix with fall colored sprinkles. They cut very nice and looked great on a plate. They did bake for shortly over 25 minutes. I will be making this recipe for many years to come. Quick, easy and yummy warm from the oven!"
"I didn't think the bars were anything great. They weren't very moist . I wouldn't make again."
"These were great! I made them for church fellowship time, so I doubled the recipe and used a jelly roll pan and used 3/4 cup brown sugar. I didn't have enough chocolate chips, so used 1 1/2 cup chocolate, and 1 1/2 cup white chips. I didn't add the nuts and didn't drizzle anything on top, but they were still great and so easy to make! They taste like homemade chocolate chip bars, without all the measuring and mess!"
"Very easy to make! The chocolate chips are great-I'd use a bit ore brown sugar next time!"
"Absolutely delicious! And easy to make. They come out nice and moist. Sometimes I would warm them up and put some vanilla ice cream on it. Yum!"
"I bought a Taste of Home's 200l Quick Cooking book at a garage sale and found this great recipe in it, which everyone loves."
"These are moist and delicious. I did not have a yellow cake mix on had so l used chocolate and it turned out great!"
"I fed these to my group of 8-11 year old girls from church and these bars were gone in NO TIME!! Will definitely be making these again:) Instead of melting the shortening and choc. chips I just sprinkled some chips on top of the cake as soon as it was out of the oven and then stuck it back in for a couple minutes and then smeared them over the cake"
"I made this recipie for my neighborhood labor day party & every one loved them!!! They said that I would now have to bring them to every labor day party. I thought that they were a little bit under cooked but other than that they were fabulous :)"
"THESE ARE AWESOME!! I sent them to my brother in college and he loved them. He said they were better then chocolate chip cookies! They don't get hard and they freeze well."
"Thank you, I am going to print this. I know my DS will love it."
"Really easy! I have made these bars numerous times for my kids and faculty treats. These bars are so moist and chewy just like a great chocolate chip cookie but I only have to clean one pan."
