This recipe was given to me many years ago by a friend. Teaming chocolate with butterscotch for a marble cake makes it more flavorful and colorful than the usual chocolate-vanilla combination. This rich family favorite is very moist and keeps well. -Pam Giammattei, Valatie, New York

"altho love the idea of this cake I purchased 3 bags of butterscotch chips for holiday (2015) baking recipes . I used 1 bag&found the flavor of baked goods very fake, not appealing to my tastebuds at all. tossed the other 2 bags plus what I had made from using the chips. was hoping recipe called for another solution besides the butterscotch chips.

wonder if I could use another chip while still using the pudding?"

"I love this cake! My family has fans of both butterscotch and chocolate (and I love both) so this was a wonderful treat for all. It looks really pretty too and is so easy to make."

"This is a quick and easy dessert to make. The cake we loved; we found the icing to be too sweet. I would adapt the frosting using less butterscotch chips, unsweetened chocolate, a little butter and light half and half."
