Buttermilk makes this colorful bread moist and delicious while granola and almonds add special crunch. We like to snack on slices around the clock.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup granola without raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped red candied cherries

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. In
  • another bowl, whisk the egg, buttermilk, oil and vanilla. Stir into
  • dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in the remaining
  • ingredients.
  • Pour into two greased 5-3/4-in. x 3-in. x 2-in. loaf pans. Bake at
  • 350° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks. Yield:
  • 2 mini loaves (5 slices each).
